With the prices that are currently being asked, you really ask yourself how this game could have been discontinued because they supposedly couldn't make a profit from selling miniatures. Unbelievable.
There are some ships I don't have in my collection. They're all ridiculously expensive. The only ones I see for kind of acceptable prices are the CR-90s, Nebulon-Bs and Victories... Supposedly because starter game / first wave miniatures were sold more often than others. Other than that? No chance. Early models like the Gladiator? Expensive as fuck. Late models like the Starhawk? Expensive as fuck. Small models like the Raider? Expensive as fuck. Large models like the Venator? You guessed it, expensive as fuck. Don't even get me started on squadrons or flotillas.
If you're willing to turn this into a more Warhammer-like hobby, there are lots of people selling 3d prints on etsy. The Armada Legacy Website did a good job collecting them all, although there are a few dead links in there by now. However, even those come with a hefty price tag as you'll have to order vessel, stand, cardboard and cards separately, which quickly adds up.
