Sure, sorry for my late reply. I stumbled across the second article published by the "Independent" but I also found an older "Guardian" article about it which I'd like to put first for timeline reasons.
I am struggling to believe there is that much energy in rain compared to solar. For starters, it is sunny for hours most days. It only rains most places in the US a few hours a month total.

Also, in places where there’s little rain, there’s a lot of sunlight. So what’s your point here?
