My son acquired a DS a few weeks ago. He loves it but the games can be hard to get. And it was his birthday last week so we've worked out we have a DS, wii and a switch, and a PS 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. I'm being swallowed by gaming systems.

Same here, it was about 11° when I got up this morning. Mr P gets the shudders if it's cold and his joints play up.

I think those are great, realistic goals!!

Mine are:

1. finish my cert III, and start the cert IV in vet nursing
2. obtain part-time work, preferably in the animal industry
3. get over the writer's block I have regarding my poetry; the best ones always come just before I fall asleep and don't have a notepad. 3.1. get a pen and notepad for my bedside lol

Great goals, and do-able!

I think mine are:

1. Develop an exercise habit of some sort. Anything, really, even just regular walking. I used to do heaps of incidental exercise (like riding my bike to work) but now I don’t, and I really need to do something to help with stress management
2. Start to investigate other jobs. I’m lucky that I have a good job and work with (mostly) great people, but I’m pretty burnt out. But also nervous about change and not sure my skills are transferable.
   Sating ‘investigate’ makes it seem less scary, lol

1. Motivate some of these fatties on here to move more and eat healthier. Myself included. After I finish the tin of Danish biscuits on top of my fridge.

2. More travel

3. Support my daughter who will be doing VCE next year.

1. Try to get back down to around 100kg....currently at 110 so only need a few good shits.

2. Take every course or training offered through work to beef up my CV and get a permanent higher position.

3. Call out shitty and entitled behaviour in public more.

Probs a second kid, hopefully without the stress of making the first. Continue to save for my dream car. Improve overall fitness (good news there is I have a very low starting point so the only way is up!)

I’m pretty settled in where we are now. Likely won’t be moving again. We have lived overseas and all around Australia (even Tassie!)

It’s time to stay put for a minute and looking at getting some upgrade projects around the house completed. The new cladding was just finished off today and looks great.

A proper creme brulee is yum! The toffee-like stuff on top contrasts so nicely with the creaminess of the actual dessert. Hope they put some fruit with it for extra tang. The supermarket tubs are just yuk imo. Nothing like crunchy enough.

I love the variety. Day after day of hot, humid and tropical weather would drive me bonkers. I'm just not cut out for it. Kitchen hot is different though.

I'm just getting lots of short showers here. Absolutely perfect for the garden. I don't have anything much get into the gutters these days, there used to be a tree against the house that would drop lots of stuff but that died a few years ago and keeping the gutters clear has been simple since then.

For what it’s worth, I think you’d be a really good scientist. You have a natural curiosity about things and a can think deeper about things, and a knack for problem solving. All the essentials.

Any recipes I’ve made from that website end up being pretty tasty. It’s trustworthy. AU measurements help.

Not all online recipe websites are made equal (eg. Taste, 50/50 gamble there from my experience).

The recipies are simple, reliable, made with easily available ingredients. The method is also explained in all relevant details, with a video too. Basically, Nagi makes delicious food and explains how to make it well at home.

The recipes are legit delicious and include some seriously handy tips. It really feels like it's been written by someone who's cooked the recipe heaps of times and thought about what the average person might mess up or need substitutions for, etc. They're also great for beginners learning cooking techniques and how to taste for certain things etc. You have to have tried a few recipes to go "oh wow".

On top of that, the sheer range of cuisines and dish types makes it invaluable for everything from staples to banquets.

She has a wide range of recipes and they're easy to follow. She also gives alternative ingredients.

I can't forgive her for her trifle recipe though. It's bullshit you have to make your own jelly from scratch. We all grew up on Aeroplane Jelly in trifle. Nothing wrong with it.

Her recipes are easy to follow and I haven't had one fail yet. The tips and suggest substitutes are always bang on. And there's a dog.

Being Australian is very good. Measures are for Australian cups and are in grams. The ingredients are available to us too.

But I don't use her recipes as I find them a bit hot spicy hot for my sometime sensitive tummy.

Should work. Lining the sides and base with baking paper might be a good idea. Certainly the quiche tin will need to be greased well with butter. Lining will even out the heat transfer as well as making the pie easier to remove when done. Be generous with the height of the pastry, as the different shape may affect how the filling cooks.

If by quiche tin you mean one of those metal tins with fluted sides and removable base, then yes it will work great for a pecan pie. A tip for taking it out of the tin - sit the base over an upside down bowl that is narrower than the tin. Then gently ease the side off. You can then either put the pie with the metal base still there onto a serving plate, or, if you are brave, use a flat spatula to gently lift it and slide onto serving plate.

Line with one big piece of foil.

Yeah we did. Sales agent also managed the property. We asked them to let the tenants know as soon as our offer was accepted that we intended to occupy. That gave them 90 days head start to begin looking. We issued notice (60 or 90 days I think) so they had tons of warning. Told them if they left early they wouldn’t pay for any extra days and we were very lenient on the exit report.

Don’t feel too bad about it, the place was not in a good state but impossible to tell if it was them or any of the previous tenants who trashed it.

I wouldn't. I honestly don't believe evicting someone in order to move in yourself should even be legal, there is absolutely no way I would buy a tenanted property unless I intended to keep it as a rental.
