I had a summer job when I was a kid in a food manufacturing plant. The food waste went in these "green dumpsters" to be turned into dog food apparently. Bits of broken pallets and shrink wrap absolutely ended up in there.
I mean it's funny, but food manufacturers literally have entire departments dedicated to similar stuff.
And they absolutely bulk out our food with saw dust too, they just call it cellulose.
