The subreddits have reopened for now, but I do hope the Lemmy version will stay alive too.
Has reddit done anything to make anyone feel less crappy about what they’ve done?
@forgottrek @daystrominstitute @startrek I see no problems with that. Better than ”Cats.”
What about Spot?
@raspberry_confetti She is asleep.
@Anglophyl @daystrominstitute @startrek of course not, this is primarily a star trek account afterall
@forgottrek @daystrominstitute @startrek I was being tongue-in-cheek. :P

@forgottrek @daystrominstitute @startrek I've been trying to help the members of r/greatestgen find places in the Fediverse to hopefully increase that. Given the reddit drama going on
Is there a dedicated greatestgen community here? The only way I could find you people is by searching for “desoto”😂
@largorithm There isn't a dedicated Lemmy community, though there's talk of it at startrek.website Lemmy.
Ironically, what you found with your search was the FoD Mastodon at https://friendsofdesoto.social
Because of the Fediverse all these apps are interconnected.
Wild. So, what is the difference between viewing via mastadon va Lemmy then? Can both access and interact with all the same content? The formats definitely feel different, and there are different interface options…
@largorithm
When someone replies via Masto to a lemmy/kbin post, there will be mentions in there. Like is common on Masto.
And the lemmy/kbin channel is shown as having retootet the messages, when you follow one from Masto.
Imagine you follow a reddit channel from Twitter. It works but you can see where it's glued together. For example I cannot downvote via Masto. (Which might be a bonus.)
