Which automation or factory builder games do you play?

  • a lot of factorio,

  • I have finished Satisfactory once, it was very cool as well.

  • shapez.io, which is cool but gets repetetive fast imo

Otherwise I think I've only played various minigames or something like that.

Maybe I am forgetting some.

Don't think i ever finished any, i usually get overwhelmed in the endgame i guess. What I have tried so far:

  • Satisfactory (favorite so far, gonna only finish it on full release)
  • Dyson Sphere (good one, great QoL Tools, might come back eventually and finish it)
  • BigPharma (Mediocre)
  • Mindustry (ok)
  • Per Aspera (oh i actually did finish this one, but it's not completely an automation game)
  • Astroneer (couldn't get into this one)

Lately we’ve been playing Satisfactory. I also have something like 1000 hours on Factorio. The first time I played Factorio I must have played it for two days straight.

There's a reason I have not played it yet. Not sure I can commit the right amount of (all of my) time to it.

Don't sweat it... 1 hour blocks are working as well. Sure it takes ages to make progress but on the plus side you probably won't dream of factorio if you keep the dosage low

I'm planning to finally get There Is No Spoon in Factorio, since I promised myself I wouldn't buy another game until I completed all achievements, haha.

I got Mindustry in an offer recently but it doesn't click for me, might give it another chance.

Many people here praise it, but I can't play Satisfactory since I get dizzy playing first person games 😭 I watched a Stream once and got sick in a minute.

About games I want to buy I have my eyes on they are Timberborn, Against the Storm and the Pharaoh remake. Damn, I loved Pharaoh.

I got my hands on a free version of Timberborn (cough) and I didn't enjoy it too much. The options you have are very limited and it felt like an old game.

Ooh, that's too bad. Then I'll keep enjoying KoS' let's poay series :)

I literally just started a new game of Satisfactory. It's been awhile so I was excited to see some of the new content.

Also Dyson Sphere Program is very similar automation wise. What a great game!

Ayyy, same here w/ Satisfactory; I just decided to hop in after watching WAY too many factory videos on youtube. Only at tier 2, but I'm really hoping that I can somehow get a multi-entry storage container. I just want my production line to be a bit less horrifying.

2

Workers and resources: soviet republic. Not exactly factory builder, as you have to deal with population, but huge emphasize on industry and production chains. The most complex and hardest city builder i've ever played

3

I can recommend Surviving mars . Sure it's more of a economic balance game. But it is scratching the same problem solving itch for me.

2

I've played a little satisfactory and shapez.io as well (and am waiting for shapez 2 which is in development and looking promising), an old version of mindustry, and also a lot of factorio

2

shapez.io is easily my favourite. When I Start a new game, there are only a couple hours left, until my PC reaches about 15FPS. Then I usually never touch the game in the coming weeks, but when I'm coming back again, I will enjoy a fresh New Start.

2

Previously, Factorio, Dyson Sphere, and at the moment Satisfactory, but I can feel my interest wane in that a bit atm. Kinda tempted by Timberborn, though that's not quite the same

Oxygen Not Included is my current vice. So much to automate!
