Was the controversy addressed/solved?

Hi I'm an old-timer who have played some WT several years ago. I wanted to try it out again, but heard that there was a controversy because Gaijin is a scumbag. Was this problem solved?

There have been some positive changes to the economy lately. Rewards have gone up, free FPE and parts to name a few. Play a few games, see if you can see a difference. My SL count has been rising more rapidly lately compared to before so I'm happy.

Is it better compared to the pre-controversy levels? For example I always disliked the enormous amounts of research points you need to make in WT lately.

they do have a research point rework planned on the roadmap, im not sure how good it'll be but so far the SL changes they've done were positive, although they could have done more

Are you asking about ground or air?

With premium I think the air grind is still definitely a grind, but it's reasonable.

The ground grind feels pretty absurd even with premium.

Hmm I didn't specify the type, but it's sad to see then even premium doesn't help you enough.

To be clear those are both for realistic- part of why the grind feels better in air realistic is that you only get the single plane. So to upgrade you really only have to research the next one. Whereas for ground you're probably going to delay until you can field a full new lineup unless it's a very small BR jump.

They're meant to be doing some foldering sometime soon, and reducing the RP needed for foldered vehicles. When that happens I expect ground will be much much better.

I hope so, because this grind grind grind aspect really pushes a lot of players away. (This is the case for me)

Well, good news. They released an update about that foldering I mentioned in my earlier comment just a couple hours ago showing the changes they were going to make sometime in September, and it looks pretty great. They're adding a lot of folders, and the foldered stuff will cost half as much to research.
