At the same time, no home or business lives in a vacuum. With large projects like this, developers are expected to contribute back to the city to build the infrastructure and neighborhoods around the project, like we see with this. It's better city design to build a neighborhood directly connected to the plant than it is to expect everyone to commute for an hour to get to work. Many company towns had very good urban design, even if they were mini-dictatorships.
Hell yeah when are we getting carefree life long contracts baby.
I think the only thing worse than living in Phoenix would be living in a city inside of Phoenix.
It's not a city. It's a parking lot hellscape.
It's a sea of asphalt surrounding the occasional building. I'd never live there in a million years, and due to the car emissions from places like this burning our atmosphere, people won't be living there in 30 years (or fewer).
Unfortunately very car-centric design. The majority of the non-industrial land is paved over and used for parking, and another large portion is being used for grass in a desert.

I don't see any mention of how it's going to fit with climate change.
Well it’s in the middle of the desert and very spread out, so it sounds like their plan is private automobiles to shuttle you between air conditioned low rise buildings.
In other words, their plan is LALALALA I CANT HEAR YOU 🙈🙉🙊
The developers have code-named it "Project Brooklyn Bridge."
