I don't get why in the US there is this big backlash against remote work. In my country tech companies are all for remote work because they have realized productivity is the same or better while they are saving tons of money on services and infrastructure.

It’s due to execs not feeling productive while working remote, so they bring everyone back in so the execs can feel productive. If they truly cared about productivity, they would allow for remote work to continue and pilot 4 day work weeks. Instead the execs lack empathy and can’t understand the productivity gains from remote work
