I wouldn't think they're going to be removing images but ya never know I guess. I'm working on a script/bot to auto d/l and re-up to something like redgifs via api but I see that redgifs isn't great around here. I'm going to see if I can use another host.
Any reason your not using something like redgifs? Imgur and reddit images are kinda doomed.
