Sony adds multipoint LDAC support for the WH-1000XM5 headphones

If you were holding out on buying the WH-1000XM5 because it lacked multipoint LDAC support, well now may be a good time to get one.

I'm probably desilusional for hoping they would do the same for the WH-1000XM4 as Sony rarely update old devices even as they keep selling them...

I tried the v5 headphones but they were worse than v4, at least at sound isolation.

System requirements: A working internet connection

So I can not use my headphones on a plane?

It's because you need internet to download the firmware. It's done through the app.

it’s talking about the system requirements for installing the firmware, the headphones work fine without one.
