WikiReader | Android app for reading Wikipedia pages distraction-free.
The app is very rough and only have search functionality and might need months to get to great point, but I am super relived to see someone working on a true third party native client.
I wanted to share it with the community here, because the wikipedia app for android sucks on so many levels.

How does the wikipedia android app suck? It's open source and the ui is, imo, quite nice.
Interesting. I'm really surprised by this. I really like the wiki app. And use the tabs a lot. Never would have expected someone to dislike it so much. Designing mobile apps must be a incredibly hard job.
i disagree on some of the points, but theyre all fair.
But it shows up in fdroid for me, so im not sure why you say it isnt
There was a few months where Wikipedia was reverted to a very old version as newer versions didn't meet their build standards. That has since been fixed.
I get at least an update every two weeks or so... and it worked for at least the last four years, since I installed it from f-droid.
Tabs meaning the chrome-like article selection? I use it all the time, FWIW.
Huh
Isn't the official wikipedia app built with kotlin not a web browser
yep it broke
HEY I WANTED TO POST THIS
Too late GolfNovemberUniform
It is indeed very rough for now, but good to see another app
Even if it gets better it would need a good multi language (multi-lingual?) support for me to switch, which the official app did a stellar job with.
