Not seeing all comments, curious as to why
At this time this post supposedly has 13 comments but I only see six. I'm curious as to what's going on. Is it folks posting from instances that this instance is not federated to? Or is it because those users do not have English (or Undetermined) selected among the Settings > Languages options? Or is it a combo of both and/or some other stuff?
Are there any recommended user settings for engaging with this instance and are they posted anywhere?
I've noticed this too, on other instances. When I discussed it with the admin of another instance, they looked into the database and found that the displayed number was just wrong, and that all the comments actually displaying were correct.
better than what I experienced last week which was literally no comments displaying on any thread, whether I was logged in or not
figured it was a bug, came back days later and still nothing.
… realised I had forgotten I turned on the “Block comments where they aren’t the primary focus” option on in 1Blocker which synced across my devices.
I'm not familiar with Apple products of any kind. I'm curious, what does that option do and how does it help, or how is it supposed to help?
I have 1Blocker. I’ve never turned that setting on but always assumed it would suppress comments sections from web pages that offer comments elbow articles.

it was actually pretty nice to go to youtube and only see the video and the related videos column

If i click the little rainbow fediverse logo on that post, it should take me to the original instance i think? Only getting a cloudfare connection error though.
I'm not sure what it's meant to do, but it did take me here at my end.
