When he comes to big cities his crowd isn’t from the cities. That’s just where the venues are. The crowd comes from the surrounding suburbs and rural areas. People in rural and suburban Michigan are terrified of Detroit.
Trump hates veterans and seems to see them as suckers, losers, etc. And yet, I've seen a shocking number of "Veterans for Trump" signs.
Like there are veterans who believe that it's all the OTHER veterans that Trump thinks are losers. All the other veterans except them.
Superpac money is helping here, it's the only money that actually works for him because the rest is funneled right into his bank account.
It's terrifying really, it means moving forward the candidate has less and less power even after elected, the interests are now very well organized.

Suburbs. Detroit has been a “donut” city, hollowed out by flight to the suburbs. It’s finally starting to come back but it’s surrounded by wealthy suburbs who hate Detroit
