I mean, just like any other site, I'll probably live without it if it's a pain. Mobile popups and notifications already turn me off the most useful sites. I think my bank is next on the chopping block with the constant need to verify I have a phone and making me CHANGE MY FUCKING USERNAME all the time.

Every company which achieves monopoly is bound to abuse it. Microsoft did it with IE, Google is doing it with Chrome and their search engine.
