one example is people thinking pterosaurs are dinosaurs. why does nothing teach kids that?!?

I think that in average is lack of empathy or just lack of interest in the listener, i.e. the speaker just wants to speak out a speech, not to effectively communicate something: if I want to share something with someone I cannot avoid to rely on the listener’s feedback to guide my speech, regardless of the specialisation level of the topic.
