Found something online that I've been looking for. I've been watching ebay etc for about 2 years and it finally came up.

Fuuuuuuck. Yeeeeeesssssss

14

It's a music thing lol. You can't buy it in store in Australia and they only make a few dozen a year in batches.

Found a cactus I got as a kid 30 yrs ago randomly in the old unused wood bbq. Never been fed / watered still kicking and looking ridiculous in that pot. Repotted it and that was always gonna hurt :( went straight through the gloves.

And anothery of the blossom (I'm obsessed by it I know). Nother week should be full tilt:

wrap cactuses in thick newspaper when you repot them

4

Ooh that's a good idea. I was impressed how easily it went straight through those leather gloves.

I purchased a little old nonna wheely trolley for my groceries today. I actually owned one ages ago but gave it away when I last moved...next minute...landed with no car and have been walking again for ages. My shoulders thank me.

My day was spent pottering, walking, rearranging pot plants and chatting on the phone. I really needed a day like that.

A stall holder at the vic market told me trolley shoppers get good deals because they are known to be regulars and locals. ๐Ÿ™‚

Made a version of kedgeree to scratch that tinned fish and rice itch. I cook the rice with the fish in an attempt to get more flavour imbued. It's alright if I say so myself. The cardamom is doing a lot of heavy lifting

Heh it's the pan. That's a cup and a half of rice and I've already walloped half of it.

What a beautiful day! Got the Minipeelers out for a walk and saw many cute dogs. When I explained my reasons and feelings about why we can't get a dog right now they actually were very reasonable and accepted it ๐Ÿ˜…

Too lazy sorry. I've been patiently waiting for cafe to open and I'm going there now

Isn't it more work to dress and then walk or drive there?

3

Cooking without dressing provides extra entertainment for the peanut gallery

3

Beautiful. I had a little family of dragonflys follow me for a while on my walk โ˜บ๏ธ

4

6/8 assessments passed.

Waiting for my last two pracs to be assessed and then I can relax. I've just been pottering around, pacing, telling myself to not expect marks on the weekend, but I'm anxious.

I just need validation that I am smart, and not a total lost cause ๐Ÿ˜ญ

There doesn't even seem to be violent wind to counteract it! Maybe it'll actually be nice today?

Took a long drive on a glorious day, went to a cheese train right as a dog parade came through the door, ate many delicious cheesy things and finished an audio book. Today was wonderful.

Sounds like an awesome day. Is this the cheese train in Geelong?

1

Yeah! I'd never been, but apparently there's also one somewhere in Western Melbourne. It was a fun, tasty experience!

2

Meeting a new band tomorrow which is awesome! Beautiful day today which is perfect for a lunch at the lake near my house with mates.

Hope everyone has a great day โค๏ธ

Seems like magpies are learning bad habits from humans.

Just watched one casually cross the road slowly
without any care for the world. Didn't even fly away when I approached it in the car, simply brushed off the encounter when I had to drive around it.

8

How did I just fall asleep on the couch for like four hours. After already nodding off intermittently this morning. I am not a habitual daytime sleeper but this is the third weekend in a row it's happened now. I don't like this fatigue. It's not even the weather, it looked glorious outside today...

8

That's my main hayfever symptom. I've found if I use Nasonex spray and take an antihistamine every day I barely notice any problems, but if I don't keep up with it consistently over spring my eyes get very irritated and watery.

4

Yesterday a combination of sleep deprivation and allergies made my eyes very sore.

Meds are late but the girl is hiding in one of her cubbiesโ€ฆ she needs it soon but I donโ€™t want to invade her safe place (or drag her out). I prepped the syringes ready to go and will wait a little bit to see if she emerges.

I think today is just going to be video games and cuddles.

7
melbaboutownreply
aussie.zone

I donโ€™t think cuddles are on the cards nowโ€ฆ she didnโ€™t come out so I ended up having to stick my arms into her cardboard box cubby and give her both medicines by feel. Spilled part of it and made her extremely unhappy.

5
aussie.zone

Ah it's okay, we gotta do what we gotta do for our furry family, even if they don't understand why.

You waited until you couldn't, and I think the way you did was as low stress as possible, you didn't pull her out of her cubby.

You're looking after her wonderfully, friend. She'll forgive you for any spills ๐Ÿ’œ

7
melbaboutownreply
aussie.zone

It was bad though. Maybe it would have been (slightly) better if I had pulled her out?

She had her back to the tiny entrance I was coming in through (and blocking) so was literally cornered and trapped. My fingers and the medicine syringe were probably going near her eyes because I had to do it by touch. She was freaking out.

Iโ€™ve patted her and apologised, explained how I had waited a while to try and avoid it but the longer she went without the worse she would have feltโ€ฆ but I knew it was traumatic and Iโ€™d try to avoid doing that again. She seems to have settled.

2
aussie.zone

Hm idk I still think the way you did it was better than pulling her out, but also you know her better than I do, so maybe if shes in there again you can pull her out and see which reaction indicates less stress.

You are doing great, don't doubt yourself. ๐Ÿ’œ

2

I would have lured her out with food but she was entrenched and hasnโ€™t been big on wet food (and only mildly enthusiastic with treats)

That deep inaccessible cubby may have to be removed when sheโ€™s in hiding mode. (The more open ones can remain.)

2

Instead of doing anything constructive I should be doing I spent the morning shopping online for embroidery cottons and some additions to make my thread stand more user friendly. I would like to know why, when I already own so many different colours of cotton, I always struggle to find the right colours for every new pattern I do?

7

Nothing much in the fridge for din dins tonight. Am tossing up whether to hit Thornbury Taphouse for a steak or Dumplings Express for a feeeeast. Decisions, decisions ....

Iโ€™m partial to dumplings but only if theyโ€™re good and thereโ€™s a lot of them.

3

I have discovered the existence of micro IkEA stores. Not sure this is allowed in my universe. The whole giant ramble with arrows and getting lost anyway is half the fun.

4

Back to doing more sewing. :) There are 54 pieces of fabric in each big cushion. ๐Ÿ˜ต

4

I think I used up all my creativity yesterday, so I've been working on decluttering/sorting my sewing room instead. I think I have finally gotten all my cotton in one place and under control. I have far too many partly used reels, many of them multiples of the same colour. When you have a mess it is easier to just grab a new one for each project instead of finding the old one. I now have all of the partly used rolls in one box, roughly sorted by colour tone. I have also ordered some clips to stop the thread unravelling from the bobbins and reels to try and keep things a bit more orderly. Some of the rolls are getting a bit old, but nothing too antique - I sold all the ones on wooden reels a few years ago!

I also found some nice thick cardboard that I need for the covers of the book I am making - an old fabric covered storage box that I was going to throw out but didn't because Miss Meow enjoyed jumping in it. The cardboard inside that gives it structure should be a perfect weight.

4

so tired but if I keep at my work slowly I'll at least get something done

dinner tonight will just be easy

I canโ€™t find my work keys.

Does anyone know where in my house (they have to be here, I couldnโ€™t leave work unless I had them) I might have put them down?

2

In a jacket pocket? Bottom of work bag? Sink (or near toilet?) on top of fridge? In the car? I hate it when that happens

3

I have. They were in the pocket of a hoodie Iโ€™d sent through the washing machine. All is well
