Y’all are gonna be swarming the northern border soon, I reckon. I’m not looking forward to it. We’re already way too influenced by American politics and culture, so I’m not looking forward to seeing the further enshittification of my country.

Creating nuclear power plants should be a high priority. At 112 degrees, AC is not optional. The state should be making sure that everyone has access to low cost, clean energy.

Nuclear is mostly not getting built because it's expensive. That's why you see so much wind and solar built instead

7

Exactly. Nuclear is expensive and take decades to come on line. Solar is cheaper and more flexible.

Not to say some nuclear might not be unavoidable.

Nuclear is not being built due to opposition to it from so called environmentalists. It’s been a thing for a while

Yes, we definitely need vital resources like this to be state owned.

I wish a kind soul would post the text of the article in the comment section. Can it be the new common courtesy? Like holding the door open, and not shitting on the toilet seat.

This is the Guardian, so there isn't a paywall or anything. In point of fact, you'll find that most links here are either:

  • Not paywalled
  • Use a paywall-bypassing gift link
  • Or include a link to an archived copy of the article

In general, publishers frown on people copy-pasting the article, and it's a recipe for getting a bunch of copyright infringement claims if this community becomes too big.

You right. I'm just wondering how r/animetitties gets away with posting the text of every article for convenience sake...

They're just not well known enough to attract attention yet. There are a few US news outlets which sic lawyers on you for even an archive link.
