Tasker unable to toggle Wi-Fi (workarounds?)

First, I know it's an API thing and not a Tasker issue. However, this sucks balls. I don't use Tasker often because I have battery life issues but I'll be damned if I go to use it and find that Google fucked it up.

Can I get this function back if I root my phone or run an alternate OS like Graphene? I'm edging ever closer to have a fully customized and controlled device for personal use and a standard, locked-down device for work.

I'm on a Samsung phone and the workaround I figured out is to use Tasker in tandem with Samsung's built in Routines feature. I use Tasker to generate a notification, and the Routines function is able to read that notification and react accordingly to toggle device settings like Wi-Fi, depending on what the notification says and what I have configured.

For this, you will need to download the tasker settings app and install it.

This should allow youmto toggle WiFi.
