He was a heavy smoker and underwent a triple bypass surgery in 2008.

Edit: Here are some more blue Fugates. I can't verify any of the photos, but whatevs. It's interesting.
That's the Colloidal silver guy.. The Fugates had a blood disorder. All of it is fascinating though.
