KeePassXC is a in place alternative for keepass ( they are interchangable )

Sandboxie-Plus only helps with "specific" malware. I recommend you the optional windows sandbox feature. ( Optional Features => "Sandbox" )

For those who dont want to get probably spied on. As Vivaldi is chromium and that is controlled from google. Go use Firefox, or rather Librefox its a real alternative to chromium. ( Its less creepier )

Codium as an de-microsofted Visual Studio Code alternative.

Notepad++ - lightweight feature rich tabbed notepad

Wireshark - packet capture. Note for you programmers, it's not the network. Your app just has shit performance.

HyperV - general compute virtualisation free* with windows 10/11

GNS3/eve-ng - networking specific virtualisation

Putty - ssh to stuff

Winscp - SCP to servers for file transfer.

Windows subsystem for Linux - run a Linux kernel in windows for testing Linux stuff like Ansible.

Python - multiplatform scripting and the base for so many automation tools.

Those are just off the top of my head

Also Firefox. Because chromium based web browsers/webapps are basically spyware.

I'll add AlomWare Toolbox to this list. Been using it for years to do almost anything on my PC that gets annoying/repetitive, like typing my email and moving my app windows to where I like. The clipboard history and "Map" are great features, too.
