As a fan of Lovecraft and other shitty artists, I'm aware of this debate all too well. I think it is possible with time to separate the art from the artist, but the guy still being alive kind of makes it harder I should think. People like Eric Clapton, Scott Adams, and Orson Scott Card are trash and I won't touch anything they do while they're still alive because I don't want them to potentially benefit while I'm alive, but at some point after they're rotting away I could see looking at their stuff again. I don't know that we need to destroy his stuff, but removing it may be appropriate.
