I used to go to South Beach all the time as a teenager. Can't go there now. Can't cruise, no parking or expensive parking, so crowded you can't move on the sidewalk, if your just hanging (aka not spending money) cops will kick you out. It's a big tourist trap now. Wouldn't go there now for anything.

Maybe the legions of homeless people should protest in Waikiki and cause trouble until the city/state pulls their heads out of their asses.
Maybe the fortunately homed should join them.
It's a harder sell when you have farther to fall.
And harder to ignore.
I saw a sticker in riffing on ‘keep tahoe blue’ with ‘poverty with a view’ awhile back and enjoyed that one. Same sentiment.
