Use candle light instead of mage light. I've been using mage light on my first character and ignore candle light because I thought the color of the light will be yellow-ish but I was freaking wrong. Candle light is so much useful plus it does'nt level your alteration spell, if you don't plan to level it.
If you're playing a thief build, always have a kettle or bucket in your inventory. If you want to clean out a shop while the owner is still there, just put a kettle on their head and away you go.
Most of my mod crashes have been from script bloat caused by improper saving, I always thought that I just had too many mods. But then I had people who would like double the amount of mods that I do tell me otherwise

This only works if you have a really old version running.
That's not a useful tip, that's an exploit.
