Have to make A Phone Call. Wish me luck...
Update: phone call made. Case manager was understanding and took me off Difficult Client's schedule. Also it transpired that the system -at least the scheduling system - hadn't been updated and was showing me still in Cheltenham.

I don't fold it in half for anyone so only work with feet and metres

Hardcore nostalgia with the music tonight!

My work from home equipment arrived today. God it's different working for a normal company.

Certain types of companies are great for a foot in the door, but you can't stay forever.

Me as well but with a difference - I don't work Fridays but yesterday was... challenging.

Massive week in Hobart. My back is killing me. Nothing a frosty beverage can’t fix, Cheers 🍻

See how do I do that without screen shooting it first. Please tell me master.

I went and found an image on my phone. Copied it then came back here in the voyager app and pasted it.

Copy and paste always works on a desktop when I’m need emojis.

On my app though it failed a few times before it worked.

Edit: to clarify I did a Google search for an image.

3

I was in Hobart once in winter on a day when Melbourne was colder, and I knew because every single person I met told me about it. They were very proud.

I have acquired fresh parsley and I don't know what to use it for!

aussie.zone

I put it in mashed potato , I also use a whole bunch when I make minestrone

3

Not a bad suggestion with the mash potato. Now I need potatoes.

2
aussie.zone

You could buy some mince and chop it up, mix it with the mince and make hamburgers or you could fry the mince and throw in chopped up parsley and spices or you could make a pesto with some pine nuts. Pine nuts are cheaper at Aldi.

I'm sort of a few days out from being able to shop again so I have try and make do with what I have at the moment.

I was going to make garlic butter bread/loaf slices and maybe thinking about using the pasley in that.

Was going to do fish burgers too but I don't know if pasley mixes well with that?

3

Yeah, parsley goes very well with fish burgers. It'll also keep in your fridge for a week. Just put it in a plastic bag so it doesn't dry out.

No lemon sadly :( @[email protected]

I was going to do something similiar to a Maccas Fillet O Fish.

Smokey Cheese, Tartare sauce and battered fish.

3

Yeah but are you making it because theres alot more in it than herbs. If you have a store bought one just add the parsley to a portion.

Also get some of your margarine and put it in bowl and add heaps of finely chopped parsley and a little bit of garlic, mix it all up and you've got garlic butter. Any leftovers put some glad wrap on it and put it in your fridge for next time.

2

Gremolata! Keeps for yonks in a jar if you put an oil film on top.

Parsley is also an excellent ingredient in dog biscuits. They love it. 🐕💖 🌿🦴

@LowExperience2368 @Seagoon_ Female friendships are the best ☺️

(The only catch for me is I tend to be someone people come to with problems. So there's been days when my bestie has come to me with troubles, and then my other bestie, and then mum, and then wifey 😫.)

Anyways. Grateful thoughts.

One of the ways wifey and I split jobs is that I do the dishes at night and she, in theory, puts them away every morning.

In practice, most days I end up doing it.

Well...

A couple of days ago, I waited to see how long it would take for her to do it.

6pm — nope. 7pm. 8pm.

Are you going to put them away? "In a minute!"

9pm. 10pm.

Eventually it gets to midnight. Still not put away and she's fast asleep.

So I put them away. At midnight. I might have made a bit more noise than usual in the process.

She wakes up: "Why are you doing that now? It's midnight!"

Oh sorry, it got to midnight and the dishes still weren't put away from this morning, so I'm doing it...

Anyways.

I woke up this morning, and the dishes were all in the drawers.

Grateful ☺️

Grateful that the free food market this morning had bocconcini balls.

2

This one is Eastern Food Rescue, which grew out of a Food is Free cupboard in Mitcham. There are a number of Food is Free cupboards around the place too which have free food at random times. The food is primarily stuff that is going to be thrown out from supermarkets and bakeries, so the quality can be variable.

2

I am grateful that I have choices in my life.

Also that I've just been sent the questions for an interview on Monday, so I can be well-prepared.

1

I'm gonna make meatballs and I don't appreciate having to stick my hands in cold cold meat. It makes me feel icky.

I've only tried melatonin (gives me poor quality sleep) and weed (give me poor quality bank balance) for my DSPD. Is there anything else you might recommend?

3
aussie.zone

Melatonin is 5mg, doctor then suggested I crush it, which surprised my GP. I don't dream either way though.

2

I am ungrateful for it being really hard to get replacement brushes for my robovac. It’s cheaper to get a whole new unit of a different brand. Intentional Design obsolescence pisses me off!

3
aussie.zone

That sounds like the nerve is irritated. Not fun, but at least it means your tooth is still alive and you don't need to go down the whole root canal route.

2

Been feeling low and grumpy today. Positive emotions completely dulled while negative emotions seem to get an extra boost. But at least I cut short the work day on both ends today and had some wins at work.

My favourite auntie got into a bad and easily avoidable car accident (total write off, front looked completely mangled) thanks to her stupid idiot overconfident narcisssistic husband, who honestly should've been off the roads years ago. They're in WA so no way of easily going there. Instead here I am simmering in anger at that man (nobody likes him. Except my aunt who is a martyr). Thank fuck there were no injuries, maybe minor whiplash for my aunt.

At least I guess it means they'll get a new car with all the safety features but really the safest thing they can do is take the dickhead's licence away. I hope he'll voluntarily do it after this massive wake up call... small chance given his outsized ego but he's softened a bit over the years.

7

Back home after sleep school. I won't say finally a chance for a regular night's sleep, but lets try to keep up the good habits with the kids and there might be many good nights' sleep for us in the future

7

How to jump start a neighbour's Ford Focus with the key-opened bonnet :

Step 1: Try to open the bonnet.

Step 2: With their friends, in total four of us, take turns repeating step 1 while watching YouTube.

Step 3: Celebrate too hard after finally spending almost 2 hours getting the damn bonnet open ... and helplessly watch as they accidentally smash the windshield with said bonnet.

Step 4: Connect batteries, start car, warn neighbour fuel is at 5%, pray that they have enough to gain enough charge to restart after refuelling.

Step 5: Bitch about the problem.

6

I have a neighbour who's a drummer. The marching band kind, not the death metal kind. I love hearing them practice. They're a couple of houses away I think and it's lovely and soft and rhythmic.

@Seagoon_ My boss (this is not the "manager") insists on having a team meeting every Friday afternoon.

She insists on having another one first thing Monday morning.

Are these meetings happening so we can talk about what we're working on?

Well, not really. That's what the Wednesday meeting is for.

No, I'm now 99% sure the whole point of the Friday meeting is so she can tell everyone how much fun she will have skiing or bushwalking this weekend.

And the Monday one? That's to force people to listen to how much fun she had skiing or bushwalking this weekend.

6

Its an evil plan to ensure that no one chucks a sickie on Monday or leaves early on Friday. So these meetings might not accomplish anything worthwhile workwise, but improve her management statistics for absenteeism ... I would take my laptop into the meeting and just get on with my job, ignoring her non-work related stuffing around. If she objects, tell her (and her manager/boss) you're sick of her wasting your valuable and expensive time on nothing.

6

I just ... don't go.
Or, I'll happily walk out of a meeting "I'm not adding value, here".

I already have more work than I can physically do. There's no way I have time to sit around through something like that.

Helicopter ride, pub raffle, saw a snake, rescued a puppy.

Take an exciting weekend you've once had and give it a little embellishment.

Also the more your boss talks on a Monday the less work you do!

4

Rescued a puppy from a snake using the helicopter you won in a pub raffle 💥

I decided against meatballs instead made stuffed capsicums so I asked google how long to put into the airfryer and she replied with "I don't know. Here's a link I found on the web" which I did not receive because it will go to the man's phone instead.

Yesterday I asked her how to whistle she replied "Some people say to close your lips and blow but it's hard to do without lips".

My google has turned sassy.

I came across an unopened box of 1,000 plastic straws in the party supply crate recently. I don't know what to do with them. Maybe hold onto them for a bit and then donate them to a museum in a decade or two?

3
aussie.zone

Stand outside macca's and sell them. $1 per straw. You've now made $1000. You may cop a bit of abuse though.

2

They'd only work with soft drinks. They're too thin for thick shakes. They are bendy, though. Give it another few years and the novelty of bendy straws will likely blow the kids' minds.

3

Cant tell if it was a dream, or if I really did hear mice in the roof last night. If it was real I've gotta say: they are late this year. Usually they come around May/June. God I hate the skittering sound when its on the plaster directly above your head.

I know LJ is kind of a dinosaur of the internet these days, but there's still one or two I go back to read the updates... haven't been able to for the past week, always getting that "page did not respond" and it's hitting me in the feels. No waves in the ocean tonight which makes it SCARY. Waves sort of force you to jump under and takes the mind off the shock. You're either cleaned up or not. When it's still, like glass, it is all on you to make the first move and if I remember my teenage years at house parties I was always too shy to do that.

4

I have now aquired 5 round rolls to put in the freezer to ensure there will be no more burger failures in the near future.

Scrubbed window down with alcohol wipes. I’m going to use neat vinegar on the painted sill because I am not colour matching gloss paint to fix it if it goes gummy. I have it open for a short time but this is a window where I can’t safely leave it or the blind open.

Avoiding the mending hamper…

4

Get a damp cloth and sprinkle some clove oil on it and wipe down where you've already wiped. And then wait. It will probably work.
