I know very little about salt fishing, and the possibility of catching stuff that can fuck up your day is something that (side from pike and musky here) I have no idea how you guys deal with that.
Some of them will cause irritation if you touch them, including this one. However, I gave it a very quick and gentle poke, and I was fine. Try not to have too much contact with unfamiliar species.
