G'day all! Time to sit down with my dinner and read back through your day, as I do when I've been too busy to Lemmy. I look forward to reading about your adventures!
Couch came mid afternoon, delivery guy obligingly carried it into the lounge (would have been bloody hard for me to get it in on my own.
Zooks was already sitting on it upside down when I was putting the legs on, and purred for a solid hour once it was all put together.
We're now happily stretched out while I watch random stuff on YT.
Yes I wasn't sure about it at first since the walls are kind of a light sage but the Ishka cushions I have have green in the pattern so it ties in well.
It’s not the shopping, it’s not the cooking. It’s thinking what to cook and cleanup that tires me. I know someone that eats the same meal on each night, eg pasta Monday, taco Tuesday etc. Planning is easier sure but I think the boredom would kill me. And the endless life chore of dishes is soul sucking.
I don't like it but I don't hate it, I don't think about it, just do it. Which I suppose is a way of coping with doing doing something tedious and ick.
Can confirm. I was the subject of a focussed study where I cooked and ate green chicken curry every night for 12 months. I loved it. Still love it. Probably couldn't do it again though on account of family members I've picked up since then saying things like I don't like it, it's boring, we had it last night etc....sigh
Whoa, 365 nights of the same meal?? I love green curry chicken, but that sounds horrific! I think I’d be an exceptionally bad candidate for those studies. I need variety.
My husband I each have a couch facing each other and he likes to fart up a storm on his side lately so I have told him if his filth breaches international shores I'm gonna unleash my nuclear power aka lavender spray. Tensions have eased today since it's Friday. A ceasefire if you like.
I've seen the kid come in to the room and go "nup" and back out.
It's been a really really long day of talking and meetings but mostly worthwhile. Some genuinely thought provoking stuff. But it really, really stretched out the day :/ At least I get paid for the extra hours (or take it as time in lieu). Having two g&ts and walking home helped take the edge off a lot.
On my way back I also reported an expensive fancy car that was half jutting out onto the footpath of a main road because two other cars were already tandem parked on the driveway. I usually never bother, but eff it. These are rich people in an expensive area, it isn't some back road, they can cop a fine for being lazy shits.
This weekend has some social stuff but also a lot of financial decisions. Got my bonus and tax return today - yay 🤑!
Now come all the expenses 💸... Energy bill came in - big jump in use, 9.42kWh (~$3) day. Need to organise replacement of radio in car with android auto. Need to organise car service. Need dental clean. Need drs appt after like 7 months. Need to rebuild savings. Need to plan how much longer I'll continue working FT...
But I think about where I was just over a year ago and so many years prior, and I'm SO grateful that I have all these choices now.
Apparently it has been a year since I last changed power/gas companies, so I have just been through the whole energy compare thing again. It is annoying how much of our lives we have to waste on this stuff, and it sucks that we effectively penalise people who can't do this. People like to call it a "lazy tax" to put the moral responsibility on individuals, but in reality it is primarily a penalty on people who struggle because of literacy issues, disability, age etc. A civilised society should be able to manage a fair distribution of essential services, instead we have created a system designed to take more from the most vulnerable people.
Cheers! I'll suss em out. I try not to play games on my studio PC and leave it only for music, but it can run recent games quite well. So it's a struggle lol
Just wanted to say I'm really enjoying it! Thank you for mentioning it, I've been playing it quite a lot the last few days! :) just wanted to pass on my thanks
It's insane to me that there isn't an age cutoff of the standard retirement age for the highest-level job in the country.
If the party steps him down now, it'd be the responsible thing to do but it'd show weakness and go back on everything they've been saying (that he's fine) and they seem too arrogant to do that. Plus the fickle media/voters would probably label the party as unstable (which maybe they are) and lose them the election.
If they leave him on and he dies soon, the party looks stupid for not standing him down sooner and if he dies after winning there would be a lot of talk about the intention of getting the VP in as president without people voting for them.. another issue with their entire system of voting for the "president" and not the party/policies.
If they leave him on and he keeps kicking and wins, you'd have to trust that serious people are actually running the country and he's just rolled out to flub through speeches and shake some hands. If he loses then they have 4 more years of a cartoon-supervillain president assuming he lives through them.
I don't see a way back for the USA from the crips vs bloods level of division their people are in plus their need to make politics into entertainment. The hero-worshipping of their politicians is baffling to me. They're politicians!
If they leave him on and he keeps kicking and wins, you’d have to trust that serious people are actually running the country and he’s just rolled out to flub through speeches and shake some hands.
This is essentially the scenario if Biden wins. He's been in politics long enough to know how things work and what can be done through which channels. He's good at putting experience people in the right positions in his cabinet. He's got contacts and is still very much a 'Statesman'. I doubt he has a strong guiding hand in many of the policies, but rather acts in an advisory capacity.
Trump is the exact opposite, where he has no idea what he's doing BUT wants to be involved.
Best case scenario, Biden wins, governs for a while, resigns and Harris is Pres until end of term. Her legal background might make her much ruthless than Biden in dealing with Trump and his ilk.
I can't imagine wanting to do a job that big at that age. If I make it to 80 I would like zero responsibility thank you, time to potter around or travel or whatever fun looks like in the moment. Not running a bloody country.
the problem as I see it is Trump could have a stroke on stage and his people would still vote from him. President Biden sadly cant rely on insanity of his supporters, the downside of being the "good" guy I suppose.
when out for my daily stomp a month or so ago I noticed something that looked very very promising being built on Cochrane's road. From an open door of a recently sold warehouse I spied what looked an awful lot like a looping indoor track under construction. "Wah wah you're crazy" the husband said "wah wah it's the tile area, probably the conveyer track for marble cutting or something"
Well the signage is up and who's wah wahing now my friends? HA!
I noticed mine came in today because I was checking to see that my pay came in, saw my bank balance and thought I'd been overpaid, only to see it's my tax return. Yum.
If you can reuse it all then it's not a waste of money. You never know when it might come in use again esp as you're handy with this stuff. Good investment 👍
I am grateful for digital reminders so I can set one to remind me to take off my rainbow unicorn oodie before jumping on my very-serious client teams meeting later today
Grateful for new socks. And glad that I made the effort to go to a morning yin yoga class when I felt like staying in bed instead, definitely worth it.
Grateful for the op shop near work that doesn't close at 3pm! I had time to grab a few pairs of Gstar Raw shorts with many cargo-type pockets, a pair of Millers Woman linen pants, and a Rivers Cold Buster jacket.
It’s probably plasticisers and other VOCs coming out of the freshly made plastic. Something with degreasing ability will get the surface stuff off (like a kitchen spray, dish soap, windex, etc) but since the smells are embedded in the plastic itself, it may take some time for the smell to dissipate completely. Leave out side to air out for a week.
Test it first, some chemical cleaners can be too strong and ‘melt’ plastic. (Not melt but will etch it or make it sticky). However cleaning agents can only ever remove the surface smells. Depending on the type of plastic (ie the ingredients the plastic is made of) it may smell for a shorter/longer time as the smells slowly dissipate. Some plastics can smell years later, some are fairly inert smelling after a few days.
Put them in plastic bags and pop them in the freezer for 48 hours. The cold should kill any bacteria that cause the odours. I used to do this with my boxing gloves and worked quite well.
Generally storage boxes (I'm assuming we're talking about those) are made from thermosetting plastics that should not deform under heat. Don't use boiling water, just hot from the tap and it should be okay. Unless you want to get extra scientific and check the plastic composition.
So of course like an idiot and was marvelling at myself for having stayed away from the news for some time and being blissfully unaware. Right on cue, YT serves me all the worst of the local news.
eh, the greater public are starting to find out about project 2025 for the first time (despite it being a public website for ages, and very vocally pointed out by multiple parties) so it's going rather insane.
Uptight Aussie opiate laws. I was given ten endone for surgical recovery. One every 4/hours as required. 40 hours worth. I get there's addiction risks but ffs.
Old lady on the train insisted on me moving my bag off the seat next to me, despite the 10 or so empty seats in the carriage, and 2 empty seats opposite me. . Let’s target the person wearing a mask….
More likely she targeted on 1) proximity and clear path to doors 2) direction of travel due to possible motion sickness or 3) availability of handholds and/or 4) suffered from arthritis.
Can be a minefield getting from a train seat to doors in time to get off at a station - I found this out when I had a cracked pelvis - could walk but wasn't steady and jerks and sudden changes of direction were REALLY PAINFUL. I was ruthless about getting a seat I could get out of in time without falling over. Even if this meant evicting a young person with no visible disabilities.
fuck that was me yesterday. Someone said "Did we want to go over X?" and im thinking "Bro Im about to go on the office chair, end the damn meeting!!!"
need a coffee to get through some of these meetings, but its a bit hard when the coffee betrays you.
I've been having my morning coffee later to avoid the early afternoon crash. Had mine at about 830 today and it was kicking it right on 9. I made it though. Made it to the toilet before my laptop closed.
RebelSport +$15 for express postage. Bought compression undies yesterday, web site said they'd be here today. They're not here. Spoke to support, "sorry 1-3 business days is standard, fu". Have escalated to paypal, we'll see what happens. Rebel absolutely indicated that express postage would be here by the 12th / today.
I got some cups from the op shop nearest my house, which was closed but you can "buy from the window" by sending them an email with a picture of the items you want. I have a couple of these cups from when I was a child and have been looking for more. This is the picture I sent:
Stressed about the water leak from my washing machine. I reckon I might be able to fix the connection, as it's leaking from where the machines drainage pipe connects.
I don't mind if I have to pay the call out fee for the plumber, as it wasn't an urgent repair. Just stressed about how long it had been going for and the water in the carpet. I've had the AC on the dry setting overnight and will be picking up a dehumidifier this weekend. Gotta dry it all out before I can figure out how bad any water damage may be for the skirting board and carpet.
Sigh, I think my RE is gonna hate me now. Least I'm not planning on moving any time soon so maybe I can fix it up over time, bit by bit. Idk. Or the RE is gonna lose their minds and take us to VCAT or some shit. Idk how this works. I've never had this happen before.
Whatever, I get my tax return soon, so does my partner, and he is due for a big bonus soon. So if we do need to pay for extensive repairs by a professional, then we may be able to.
I've just felt so anxious and sick since yesterday, couldn't sleep, just stressing out over everything now.
Worst comes to worst, I could prolly ask my dad for help. But that just brings with it the feelings of being a failure of a daughter ugh. Ugh!
I know it will all be okay, we'll get through whatever comes at us, but I just feel a bit overwhelmed right now, I think.
Edit: I'm gonna call my dad tonight when he's done with work, I need some moral support from him I think 😭
I would expect the damage to be covered by the landlord's insurance. In the past I've had both significant water damage from a roof leak and smoke damage caused by an accidental stove fire I caused covered by the landlord's insurane with no real issues.
That's a bit of a relief tbh. I reckon they would have insurance as I'm think this apartment is owned by the owner of the RE, or he's managing it for a good friend, iirc.
Thank you raven, I'm just a bit naive about this as I haven't had something like this happen before. I really appreciate this!
Leak fix might as simple as tightening the hose clamp, or patching the hose. Biggest issue is actually moving the washing machine cause those bastards are heavy.
I wouldn't be calling a plumber just yet. They'll charge you a few hundred bucks for a $5 fix.
DIY YouTube videos are your friends in this case :)
Don't stress. This shit happens to everyone at some point.
Thank you 💜 I needed this. And yeah I wasn't gonna get a plumber for the washing machine, was gonna do what you suggested and find a YT vid on it, and research a bit on repairing it. Dad said he would help me with it if I need :D
Edit: oh the washing machine isn't that heavy, it's a refurbished top loader and dad reckons they're easier than front loaders 🤷♀️ but yeah it moves surprisingly easy. Side note: I always forget my massive fridge actually has little wheels, it looks heavy but it moves easy too lol
And if your old man is willing to help, he doesn't see you as a failure. Knowing when to ask for help is a sign of a sound mind. I low key love it when my kids (they're teens, but still) ask me for help. Us middle aged/older folks like to feel useful at times.
Try not to worry too much - like raven said, the landlord should have insurance to cover things like this. They might ask you to pay the excess, but check with the tenants’ union (or whatever it’s called) before you do this.
Do you have a fan heater? Running one of those pointing at the floor should help dry the carpet. A room at my work flooded twice and the cleanup involved running heaters for a couple of days. It stunk while drying but was fine afterwards.
I don't mind paying the excess or whatever, it'll hurt but it was my responsibility lol. I'm just waiting to see what the RE says about the plumbers report. I should have asked him but I wasn't thinking.
I actually don't have a fan heater. My anko one caught fire last winter so I checked it and never bought another. I've been running the split system but it's on dry ATM. It's old AF though, hence why I'll be getting a dehumidifier this weekend (we have issues with condensation as well, the whole building does). I check for a fan heater as well, but it won't be a fucking anko again hahaha.
Drinking pinor noir and watching the live action Cinderella from a few years back- some of the scenes are so beautifully shot. It's the kind of movie that makes me want to believe in true love and obnoxiously huge dresses.
Back in the 70s, a bloke named Len Evans was a notable wine expert. Consulted all over the world for his fine palate yada yada. A snobby USA reporter asked him what he kept in his cellar - expecting a list of fine vintages. Len (bless him!) replied 'Oh I don't keep a cellar - all the cardboard boxes went soggy".
Seriously, our cask wine just outperforms all other countries on the cheap but good standard. Do not, I beg you, drink cheap wine in France. It's called vin du table because it's made from real tables. Of the chipboard variety.
I believe cask wine was invented (the cask part) in SA, so it'd make sense we're quite good at it!
I don't really want the pressure to drink the whole bottle in a few days. Sometimes that's easy, sometimes I go ages without a drink. 4 litres on tap, that's cold whenever you want, is super convenient.
Nah, the proper destination of the interior of a wine cask is WINE CASK FOOTY!!!!! Only to be played by seriously pissed people at a bbq or by anyone hiking in the wilderness. Wonderful fun for all ages.
Haven't heard that name in a while! I got loaned one of his books when I was in primary school. We were talking about baked necks for a while as I recall lol.
G'day all! Time to sit down with my dinner and read back through your day, as I do when I've been too busy to Lemmy. I look forward to reading about your adventures!
Couch came mid afternoon, delivery guy obligingly carried it into the lounge (would have been bloody hard for me to get it in on my own.

Newcouch Zooks tax? 🥺 I love it when cats glom onto new items and take prompt ownership of them
I love him
Happy floooof! And omg that blue is brilliant.
Yes I wasn't sure about it at first since the walls are kind of a light sage but the Ishka cushions I have have green in the pattern so it ties in well.
sheesh, a long day today. About to go home, but first gotta drop the fact my new short story released
It’s not the shopping, it’s not the cooking. It’s thinking what to cook and cleanup that tires me. I know someone that eats the same meal on each night, eg pasta Monday, taco Tuesday etc. Planning is easier sure but I think the boredom would kill me. And the endless life chore of dishes is soul sucking.
this is why I got a giant freezer. When struck I make ALL THE THINGS
when meh, I pull a lasagne or bolognaise or curry or dumplings or whatever out of freezer and cooketh.
Dishes are worse than scrubbing the loo! I despise it. Never ending cycle of ick.
I don't like it but I don't hate it, I don't think about it, just do it. Which I suppose is a way of coping with doing doing something tedious and ick.
I keep a google sheets list of things I know how to cook. then fill in the blanks with youtube shorts that look interesting enough to tackle.
I get this. I feel like I just washed up and then… Where did all these dishes come from?
Go to Aldi and look in the freezer dept. There's a shit load of stuff in there to give you ideas. Pair freezer stuff to fresh stuff.
there have been studies!!
It's not boring to eat the same food.
It helps reduce stress as there is one less choice to make a day and people learn to enjoy a reduced menu.
Some nights I added water chestnuts.
What? I love a green curry but not that often!
it's green curry, what's not to love

My husband I each have a couch facing each other and he likes to fart up a storm on his side lately so I have told him if his filth breaches international shores I'm gonna unleash my nuclear power aka lavender spray. Tensions have eased today since it's Friday. A ceasefire if you like.
I've seen the kid come in to the room and go "nup" and back out.
what is he eating 🚑
The same as me but with added chilli.
It's been a really really long day of talking and meetings but mostly worthwhile. Some genuinely thought provoking stuff.
Was just shaving and noticed a HAIR protruding from one of my nostrils! NOOOOOO I'M NOT OLD YET!!
Yanked that mofo out of there. Now for some sweet sweet denial.
Have you checked your ears?
Wait until your eyebrows run amok
you yank one, three grow back
I don’t give a fuck about the gray in my head, but the eyebrow ones are an epic nuisance!
I've had to stop plucking the greys out of my eyebrows or I'd have no eyebrows left. Not a single grey in my hair though.
bruh. You aint got shit to complain about so long as your temples are looking ok!
Apparently it has been a year since I last changed power/gas companies, so I have just been through the whole energy compare thing again. I love how you've put this, so true.
Is it normal to be fatigued by antibiotics? I went to bed at 11ish last night and woke up at 2:30pm which is super weird.
Yeah it's normal because there's a fight going on inside your body.
I guess it depends what you’re fighting against as well but the antibiotics could be hitting you hard.
What are you playing on the iPad?
This game called Breach Wanderers which is like slay the spire but heaps better.
Also trying out pubg, cod and warframe.
Any recommendations?
Hmm depends what you’re looking for or like.
If you like slay the spire type stuff there’s one called Monster Train, it’s a little bit different though.
I play Honkai Star Rail so there’s always that.
Cheers! I'll suss em out. I try not to play games on my studio PC and leave it only for music, but it can run recent games quite well. So it's a struggle lol
They can both be played on iPad. Honkai Star Rail is free but it’s a gacha game at its heart.
Monster Train is a paid game on the ipad
Just wanted to say I'm really enjoying it! Thank you for mentioning it, I've been playing it quite a lot the last few days! :) just wanted to pass on my thanks
Edit: breach wanderers, that is lol
Just wait until you unlock the 3rd character that uses their own damage as a weapon. So damn good!
yup, they always kick my arse
🥤🥤electrolytes, one for you, one for me
It's got what Gibson craves.
I know that reference!
Thank you ❤️
rest is the best thing you can do if your crook
Yeah agreed. Videogames on the iPad and SCP youtube videos it is.
Is it wrong to want Joe to have The Big Sleep..... soon.
It's insane to me that there isn't an age cutoff of the standard retirement age for the highest-level job in the country.

Both candidates are unfit. The looser of the next election is America.
fuck the dems are shit at campaigning
the team should be spending their time attacking trump and the gop, not infighting
that will leave Joe to run his own campaign
and when joe wins after a year or so he can resign and kamala can take over
I've never been interested in American politics but this one's a doozy. I don't think Joe's gonna make it which leaves the clown in charge. Again.
the problem as I see it is Trump could have a stroke on stage and his people would still vote from him. President Biden sadly cant rely on insanity of his supporters, the downside of being the "good" guy I suppose.
You don't keep the tired player on the field. You send out the fresh legs to kick the winning goal.
Biden?
Ah ha
I'd prefer Donnie to drop dead instead.
You mean the Tangerine Shit Gibbon
Amongst many other colourful descriptions, yes.
Yeah true but I wanna see someone competent to whip his arse in the election. I wanna see sore loser.
I think he would go more bonkers if he loses to Biden twice. Losing to another person won't hurt his ego as much.

Wife and I discussing about a piece of furniture on Facebook marketplace.
The listing has a photo of their dog. So I joked about buying said dog.
Our cat looked extremely offended by that comment.
My tax return processed today as well, 5 business days from when it was lodged - very happy with that turnaround and the return!
Can you reuse the security camera and alarms? Never know when they'll come in handy...
I've only been awake 4 hours and its dark. Early night I think to let the antibiotics do their job.
I am grateful for digital reminders so I can set one to remind me to take off my rainbow unicorn oodie before jumping on my very-serious client teams meeting later today
It's Friday, I'm wfh "for the morning".
Grateful for tea and coffee. Also my passport is on its way. I don't know when I'll get it, but it's coming.
The heated throw I ordered arrived today, instead of on Monday as predicted
Grateful for new socks. And glad that I made the effort to go to a morning yin yoga class when I felt like staying in bed instead, definitely worth it.
Grateful for a busy morning, that leads to an free afternoon....which leads to the weekend. Yeah baby.
I bought two pairs of shoes and one pair does fit fine! Wooo.
Grateful for the op shop near work that doesn't close at 3pm! I had time to grab a few pairs of Gstar Raw shorts with many cargo-type pockets, a pair of Millers Woman linen pants, and a Rivers Cold Buster jacket.
Just got a message that the couch I ordered, original estimated delivery 17th - 22nd, is out for delivery today.
Cue mad cleaning and rearranging I was going to do over the weekend.
Congrats on new couch! New furniture is always exciting.
got a bunch of totes from bunnings, they all smell like barbie's arse.
time to get SCIENTIFIC!
Still got a couple if anyone has any recs
buy bags that smell like Barbie's arse
advertise said bags
sell bags
PROFIT
Sunlight (if you can find some)
I actually have a UVC sterilising cabinet, but it's....not designed for these. Dammit.
(For anyone interested, voila. and well worth it if you do stuff that requires regular sanitising. or even just want to nuke water bottles)
In order to assist, 1. What are totes? 2. What does barbies arse smell like?
plastic storage totes. heavy duty storage containers with lids. These ones, for precision
it smells like an ancient tyre fire site. I can only assume without penetrative holes they get real fuckin' weird with it.
It’s probably plasticisers and other VOCs coming out of the freshly made plastic. Something with degreasing ability will get the surface stuff off (like a kitchen spray, dish soap, windex, etc) but since the smells are embedded in the plastic itself, it may take some time for the smell to dissipate completely. how about industrial degreaser? 'cos I have that....
I used to do this with my boxing gloves and worked quite well.
won't fit, this isn't tupperware
Ah, I assumed 'totes' refered to tote bags. Should have read your descriptions more carefully.
If you've scrubbed with dawn, perhaps fill it hot water and dawn AND leave for 12 hours or so.
concerns about deformation on that front though. Hmmm.
Generally storage boxes (I'm assuming we're talking about those) are made from thermosetting plastics that should not deform under heat. Don't use boiling water, just hot from the tap and it should be okay. Unless you want to get extra scientific and check the plastic composition.
Do you have any coffee grounds? Soaking with used coffee grounds is my go-to for odour removal.
violent hissing at mention of coffee
(I hate the smell of it)
Oooo. Washing powder or napisan. Fill them up and leave for a few hours.
Dishwashing tablet also.
Cream of tartar and vinegar
Citric acid
ooo I have shittons of citric acid (cheesemaking)
Mind you I also have a shitton of lemons. Perhaps hot water lemon soup?
Yes! Citric acid is used in coffee machines and such because it clears up limescale and leaves a nice citrusy smell.
I reckon napisan would conquer the woof.
I actually just realised I have a shitton of greasemonkey (We bought a carton when cleaning the kitchen due to centuries of grease). Mwahahahahhahaaaa
Rewatching Tron Legacy. What a beautiful movie and the score is just incredible.
derezzed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4cgLL8JaVI
I watched the first Tron at the movies when it first came out, it was awesome too
these would great at the IMAX
So of course like an idiot and was marvelling at myself for having stayed away from the news for some time and being blissfully unaware. Right on cue, YT serves me all the worst of the local news.
They're reading our brainwaves now, aren't they...
eh, the greater public are starting to find out about project 2025 for the first time (despite it being a public website for ages, and very vocally pointed out by multiple parties) so it's going rather insane.
Nana and uncle have taken the kids out this morning whilst I'm still sick and have a meeting.
I better still have two kids when they get back
First test with frother from Kmart.
Minimum milk. Hot setting.
It's like a cloud. Lovely!
I’m rather impressed by it!
But what can it do to kippers? 🤔
Make them look like they’re lying on a pillow or clouds?
Uptight Aussie opiate laws. I was given ten endone for surgical recovery. One every 4/hours as required. 40 hours worth. I get there's addiction risks but ffs.
I was also given a course of these, but because I was paranoid of getting addicted, I didn't touch them. 😃
I'd trade withdrawals later for less pain now. With the super opiates getting about these days I'm no longer prepared to take street drugs.
Old lady on the train insisted on me moving my bag off the seat next to me, despite the 10 or so empty seats in the carriage, and 2 empty seats opposite me. . Let’s target the person wearing a mask….
'Sorry no English' in your best/worst accent and ignore her request.
Just say it in a straight Aussie accent "sorry mate, I don't speak English. I don't understand a word you're saying. On ya bike!"
Some bright spark scheduled a meeting at 9 am (thankfully it's on line) but I need to perform my morning ablutions.
Gonna be a solid 30 minutes of clenching.
fuck that was me yesterday. Someone said "Did we want to go over X?" and im thinking "Bro Im about to go on the office chair, end the damn meeting!!!" need a coffee to get through some of these meetings, but its a bit hard when the coffee betrays you.
I've been having my morning coffee later to avoid the early afternoon crash. Had mine at about 830 today and it was kicking it right on 9. I made it though. Made it to the toilet before my laptop closed.
I'm ungrateful for the crusty crap you get in your eyes after a good sleep.
I love that shit. So satisfying rubbing it off
Like an archaeologist? Nah it irritates my eyes.
Ungrateful for Tarzan glue which fixed my earrings for 2 days. Pathetic effort.
New shoes don't fit and there's no stock in a size up. Life is hard
I paid the gas bill twice today.
Never pay bills when you’re tired.
Really didn’t need to lose money like that.
They should be able to refund it if you give them a call.
It’s not the worst thing to happen. They’ll just credit it towards the next bill.
Fuck my fridge for being too fucking small.
Let's get this bad boy over the line tonight.
Go.
Who's got Show and Tell?
ok, I picked some orchids and today is the first day the white ginger bloomed, it smells like tropical heaven.
::: spoiler spoiler :::
Lovely
How good was Show and Tell in primary school? Everyone had to listen to you bang on about your random thing. I loved it.
We should bring it back but into the workplace lol
Twould make a LOT more sense than most staff meetings.
This is my favourite guitar. It's got sentimental value and it's changed the way I make music
That's a very good looking guitar.
I saw a mouse in the lobby of my workplace , and I ate a lunch
Oh no. Fuck. No no no no no. Holy moly.
Lunch looks good. 👍
I got some cups from the op shop nearest my house, which was closed but you can "buy from the window" by sending them an email with a picture of the items you want. I have a couple of these cups from when I was a child and have been looking for more. This is the picture I sent:
omg, I collect that stuff and that looks awesome
They were in mint condition too, like they've never been used. My evening cup of tea was particularly satisfying.
I remember those! Classic.
My neighbours old house when I lived in NZ in grade 3. They gave me a bike.
Sorry for the rant:
Thank you 💜
No worries :)
I've made a playlist featuring a lot of karaoke songs. I'm gonna be exhausted after this concert tonight
Happy Friday to you too. 😊
Drinking pinor noir and watching the live action Cinderella from a few years back- some of the scenes are so beautifully shot. It's the kind of movie that makes me want to believe in true love and obnoxiously huge dresses.
Why not. :)
@SpinMeAround @Seagoon_
Lavenders Blue had me swooning to dress up
I have recently discovered wine in a box, and it may be super daggy but it's very convenient.
Indeed it is.
That got a really good Friday chuckle out of me. Never stop, o Witch of Thornbury!
Fruity lexia or Coolabah?
Pinot Grigio, but it's on the fruitier end of that spectrum. Goes all right with my gourmet dinner of hummus and savoys.
Noice. Keep the pillow for some aussie decor.
Nah, the proper destination of the interior of a wine cask is WINE CASK FOOTY!!!!! Only to be played by seriously pissed people at a bbq or by anyone hiking in the wilderness. Wonderful fun for all ages.
Nah no good as a footy. Good for a weary guest leftover from a great party who needs a good night's rest.
I’m not sure if I want to put just to buy snacks today.
I know I’ll have to go out and buy new shoes and socks and a milk frother from kmart but I’ve felt like I’ve left it a little late.
It's the last day of school holidays and the weather's bad, I'd avoid shopping centres if you can.
Too late. I’m already there and parking was a nightmare.
Pretty crowded as well with kids here.
Eek, you have my sympathies. Make sure you get some good snacks to make it worthwhile.
Just some chips. Got a muffin and now grabbing a burger.
Had to buy a new pair of boots and got a Kmart milk frother that I’m dying to try out.
Have fun with the frother!
I didn't even notice it was school holidays. Why can't I have school holidays too 😭
I love the Aussie classics 🤭
‘With air chew, with air chew,
Iker nardly liver there chew,
An I dream a badger kisser snite and die.
Phoney wicked beer loan,
Jars-chewer mere nonnair roan,
An weed dreamer batter mooner pinner sky…’
I see you’re fluent in Strine
I stole it from the great bard Affabeck Lauder
Haven't heard that name in a while! I got loaned one of his books when I was in primary school. We were talking about baked necks for a while as I recall lol.
