Migrating Content?

Would it be bad etiquette, for us who are leaving the other site, to recreate some of our old posts on Lemmy? EDIT: Not like for clout or something. I mean because there was like a decade's worth of preserved knowledge across lots of really niche domains over there. Stuff that maybe isn't even recorded anywhere else.

Pretty sure there is already at least one archival project going on, you'd probably be better off contributing to one of those.

if you have any inside information, Please tell us how to access and or contribute to that archival project.

I'm afraid I don't. I have seen it mentioned in passing in a couple other threads but I couldn't say where. I'm not in a position to contribute myself so I didn't pay that much attention unfortunately.

If it's genuinely useful / original content (and particularly if it's your content) then why not?

I'm a total newbie and have no leg to stand on but I don't see why anyone would object?

I agree, perfectly fine to transfer our most precious Reddit content to here, as long as it's not spam and ads etc.
