I'm not sure what you are referring to about a "bootleg". The message seems to be saying that they have seen some really amazing new versions of the model in the past few days, and they need some more time to evaluate them, so they can make sure that 1.0 is the best model they can put forward.
They also mentioned that they are waiting to confirm if the lora models trained on 0.9 are working with 1.0. In my opinion, anything that was trained on 0.9 should not be holding up a major release.
Why don't they just release the 3 versions?
Yeah wouldn't mind it. But I suppose theres the community aspect. They want all finetunes loras etc be compatible and not split between versions.
The community will decide what is best by which model they support
They're probably removing nudity and anything fun from the model before releasing it.
