It takes long, like 6 hours for everything. So in a survival situation start early enough before sunset. The roof gives protection from elements and the fire provides warmth. Full disclosure, I never slept there, it was more of a test.

yep, thats a classic debris shelter with a fire reflector wall. The sleeping area is inside and the fire sits in front, that wall reflects heat back into the shelter. these are super practical for emergency situations since you only need natural materials, but they do take forever to build properly lol. A good power bank like the ones on gearscouts.com is way more practical for most camping trips.
