Is there a name for this joint?
I'd call it a haunched bridle joint.
I like it because it only comes apart in one direction, unlike a bridle joint, but it's just as easy to cut.

Bridle Joint. Pretty good lookin' one too.
Thanks. Right - but it's haunched, so I was wondering if there was a different name for that.
If it doesn't have a name then you get to christen it. Might I suggest 'The Spike Lee Joint'?
It looks like one half of a castle joint.
The ol' Hammer-and-Anvil!
I just make that up, but I like it. 😅
