I was on diff 8 and had 3 Titans spawn close to the drill, I managed but it was pretty rough lol.
Completed this with friends twice on helldive, we rotated throwing down the gas cloud by the drill to kill the little ones, and used a spear/EATS and sentries. It's definitely challenging.
Oh shit I forgot gas cloud is viable again with DoT fixed
The other thing we did that seemed to help, pop round the map and close any bug holes that you can before doing drilling
As we were extracting a swarm of shriekers appeared I didn't even see any towers on the map

My son and I have a regular schedule of running missions in the evening. We run with just the two of us so we usually run medium. That was a painful mistake tonight on Meridia. So many Shriekers we could barely see the sky. Breaches everywhere. We made it in spite of it all. Over 2 thousand bugs dropped. ON MEDIUM.

The only difference is fewer bug types spawn, but the spawn rate is pretty much exactly the same and the shriekers at the end every bit as impossible to deal with
We dropped to Easy after the first run and managed well but it feels like the difficulty is 1 step higher than advertised. We're going again tonight with a whole different loadout. Hopefully we can pull off Medium.

Personally, I'd probably be okay with the insanity if it weren't giving us a "disgraceful conduct" resolution for successful missions, that's just demoralizing even though it is a bug
Yeah what's with that bit? Did it once last night and it only showed 1 of 2 objectives complete. What was the second objective? We deployed all 3 drills successfully.
The second objective is the bug, I think... There isn't one, but for some reason it thinks there is, so although you competed the mission, even if you extract, it's treating it like an incomplete mission for that part, but it's still awarding medals...
I wouldn't be surprised if that's part of the reason we've not been seeing any progress on

Found success on dif 8 last night with a full 4 squad, all coordinating staggered orbital EMS strikes on top of the drill, HMG emplacements mowing down everything with EATs at the ready for chargers and titans.
