I was honestly surprised to see one on the road while I was there - I legitimately thought it was being driven illegally, but guess not! I haven't seen them in any other coastal towns which is odd.
Now it's clear why they are not seen often. Niche product for a niche audience with special rules. Still cool. I'll have to rent one next time I'm in a qualifying beach town community.
It's a street legal car, but looks more like a maxed out golf cart. One of the cool things about Florida to me is their golf cart lifestyle.

They can be registered as Neighborhood Electric Vehicles in California. Must be electric and max speed is 30 mph.
I can only recall seeing one many years ago.
