Still trying to force their way in, this is just another move. I'm guessing Pat Symonds was already on his way out at 70 yo, this way he gets a final consultancy contract doing minimal work, so win-win really.
Yep they are paying him for his name, contacts, and reputation.
F1: Look, Andretti, it's just... We don't think you're a serious enough candidate to join. Unless you pay extra of course.
