It's a really good camera! I bought the same camera after having several recommendations for it. I'm currently using the ED 75-300 though.
We got 50% cashback for for the 100-400 for buying it at the same time as the body, and that made it pretty hard to resist.
That would have been very tempting! Hopefully it works well for you, it certainly has for me so far.
