I know admin and mod jobs can be abusive and thankless, but ugh that sucks.
I feel really sorry for this admin, but also this is what they signed up for.
No one signs up to get attacked and called a Nazi. It's really unfortunate that some people still find that acceptable. People should respect their site admins and webmasters, or they're not going to have a site anymore.
your last line sounds very fascistic. An admin has a moral responsibility, and thats all. should we aid our admins and lend our hands to them empathically? yes, but respect our of fear of being deplatformed? hmmmm
My point was that members should treat admins with basic respect. I wasn't clear. How I worded it was threatening members to act "in line" otherwise deplatform. What I meant is that admins shouldn't be accused of being a Nazi, antisemitic, etc. Because they're just going to shut it down, "deplatforming" everyone.
What caused this?
Admin of the instance posted that they wouldn't ban anyone for playing the new HP game and in addition would not allow spoiler posts from said game. Admin got a lot of grief for this and announced the server shutdown in response. He then preceded to tell a few different people who critiqued him to "kill themselves".
