We're evolving towards the status where airconditioning is no longer optional when building/renovating a house.
I've read that (for now) temperatures in Europe are rising faster than in other parts of the world. Not sure what the current scientific consensus is on the Gulf Stream, but if that ever shuts down due to climate change, it'll get much colder, very fast.
