Well that's pretty fucked up, glad I don't live in California (for lots of reasons).
True privacy is impossible at this point. Born into the system, molded by it...
Preventing the collection of data by the state may be impossible, but they should be accountable for who has it, who it's given to, and they should need to go through proper due process to use it against you in any kind of official proceeding.
It might be impossible to get everyone out of the databases, but we can at least force warrant requirements and the like.
It's not even close to impossible. It is very possible to end the collection of private data. We just need a law that makes it illegal. Unfortunately the people who make the laws are the ones who want to install cameras in your bathroom so they can watch you poop.
