Pretty sure I’ve had my last friend step down to acquaintance.

Want to write something nice, but also I know the feeling so will just say hang in there.

I bemoan chicken and vegetables, but holy fuck do I feel good today.

Like a different person.

Energetic, focused, motivated.

Crazy shit.

Edit: Noticeable performance increase at the gym as well.

Bird cage cleaned and renovated to Sir’s liking. He appears to approve of pea sprouts.

Sun is streaming in my window onto the couch so I have given up any thought of moving, have made a G&T, pulled out the diary and sitting here planning holidays and just chilling.

I imagine this is how normies (ie people whose brains are not filled with depression etc) get to live all the time. It's nice. I approve.

🤔

my brain is 95% work , 1% is walking in the park looking at trees and finding banksia pods, 2% is watching movies, 2% skiving here

I might be exaggerating but not much

Have made a report about last night’s yard screamer. The more I think about it the more it seems like a SA situation.

It's so dark 😓

I almost want to turn the heater on for emotional support. But it's 19 degrees inside so I will refrain. But it looks cold.

It really doesn't help that I've just returned from 10 days in a tropical island resort. It's like being plunged into winter all at once.

Lol I used to have this am pm shift happening when I did rotating day/night shift. I'd wake up in a darkened room with an analogue clock and no idea whether it was say 2am or 2pm. Very disorientating!

I think a lot of us experience something similar every now and then. A feeling of hopelessness and heaviness and inertia. Hopefully you can walk through it and out the other side. Hugs.

5

That and seems like it’s Groundhog Day. Definitely not just you feeling this way….

2

The alarm to get ready for work went off and I woke to a text asking if I would like AL today. Hell yeah I do! Back to sleep for me.

7

I was thinking: maybe I could be one of those people who goes around to schools and talks to the students about the realities of drug addiction.

Maybe.

No idea, I haven’t seen one (at least that I took notice of) BUT, does that man have a dog or a goat with him? I mean dog makes sense, but it really looks like a goat.

Cool. I love Pam. The little birds make me happy as I go into work on the train and I was looking at the long chain near southern cross on the weekend

i too bought steak, and frozen cheese mash from aldi

Much the same here, oven baked chips and a fancy salad. Do you use a BBQ for the steaks, or for anything much?

ISPs often choose not to obey TTL on dns records too, because they don’t want to waste the bandwidth refreshing the records. Can be problematic. I usually use 8.8.8.8 (Google)

Awake at 6am on a Sunday. Why can’t I sleep in any more? The curse of getting older

Eye mask and headphones can help you get back to sleep with some practice

I should announce that I am making a short blast on a horn when I go poop.

It's still not quite pumpkin soup season yet but the pumpkin can't wait so I'm gonna have to make it today. Maybe. No promises.

5
aussie.zone

Nah cos I've got some onions and potato I wanna chuck in there too. You have got me thinking about making some cheese and chive scones though.

5
aussie.zone

Oooh chive and cheese scones to mop up the pumpkin soup....mmmmmmmmm

2

I didn't get around to it. I had a nap instead. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe not. No promises.

I'm sure it makes me Officially Old but Extraordinary Escapes with Sandi Toksvig is one of my favourite tv shows. I would love to go on a gentle and beautiful holiday with Sandi.

5

I love that show and reckon Sandi would be excellent company. I also like having a stickybeak into all the houses

4

Walk walked. Groceries shopped. New pair of fingerless gloves bought (merino+possum for extra coziness). Bluey watched. I think it's time for a cuppa and to dig out the oodie

Turkey, red Leicester, & olive oil pickle on sourdough please

3

It’s also reality thanks to CBM having near 2kg turkey breast for $18 😺

I think I prefer more time in the morning. I liked how it took so long to get to midday today.

4

I can't remember so many crickets so late in the season . It's good, it's a natural thing in the city. 😊

Well I have a problem.

Had a new pump in the sump installed recently to feed the tanks and it is not turning off when emptied. I believe the float valve is giving incorrect instruction!

I am not a plumber so I will shake the things and give it a kick and with any luck...

last time my toilet was acting up i removed its helmet, gave it an angry stare, starved it of water and made it work an extra order. It said sorry won’t do that again

6

There could be some shit in the float valve. Look for a part number and search youtube for service tips?

Looking forward to the reunion for mafs, last few episodes have been a snore fest. Don't think I'll be watching future seasons though, been getting more and more obvious with the forced storylines by the producers and clear terrible matches.

4

How so? What changed? I didn't even realise there was a distinct "new Bluey"

2

new episode today, and a 28min episode next week

I am surprisingly concerned about how a cartoon dog will feel about moving...

Movie Review.

This is my 3rd movie about tv weather guys. Ground Hog Day, The Weatherman and today's movie, All Hail.

All Hail, from some of the team who brought you The Revenant and Bardo.

This movie has the same feel as Bardo. I admit I love this kind of cinematography/direction, it uses familiar ways to set the scene, it's feels up close and personal looking at actors without making you feel uncomfortable, it all feels natural and it's so easy to let the story happen. Every actor is perfectly cast. Every set and location is just right, every camera angle .

It makes everyday life and our world look so beautiful .

Seems to me this team loves to use the elements to tell a story, fire, ice, water, air, earth. There is always an interaction between people and the elements that is part of the story.

It's the story of a very well educated tv meteorologist who starts to believe the hype of his own forecasting record. It's about pride. Not as bad as Bill Murray who brought a curse down upon himself by saying "I make the weather". This guy, Miguel, brings a mild curse by saying "I guarantee it".

So he fails, is condemned and he must find redemption and grace by getting back in touch with real people and his family, not just users and stans, and getting back in touch with nature.

I had to look up who Professor Neurus was. 🤔

4.5 hobbits. So easy to watch, that's why I think watching twice would be a good idea.

Useful shopping this weekend for some winter clothes which needed replacing. 2 hoodies and a pair of track pants. Looking forward to coziness. Although it’s annoying that things just don’t last like they used to, quality is so much lower than it used to be.
