The Automotive and Fossil Fuel industries have retarded EV research and development for so long that they have been left behind.
I do agree that EVs are not a complete replacement for fossil fuel vehicles; we need to have a few more decades of Hybrids (both real hybrid and Plug-In Hybrids before we are ready for pure EVs. We should have started this decades ago
