1.each panel of the comic is its own file. ( highly plausible )
The panels are stored on an unrooted android phone
She lose her phone data and she has no backup.
She uses a file recovery app like DiskDigger
The app recover a low-resolution thumbnail of the panel.

ive had photos fuck up like this before. no clue why it happens. it was also on a old phone i used to have and only on that phone
