"Big thing noted to us was reaction of the stars from the past to Will Ospreay, and the match with Konosuke Takeshita. Many [at Revolution] who had been in the business for decades had never seen an Ospreay match although had heard of him. Was noted that they couldn't believe how good he was."

If you removed the Sting match or just ignore that matches importance then they definitely had what I would consider the match of the night.

Agreed. Ospreay brought some NJPW with him on that one.

I knew the match was going to be awesome, but it surpassed my expectations on every level. I really hope Carny Hotdog cuts a promo about it on Dynamite tonight.

I still think it was match of the night. Was it overshadowed by Stings retirement match? Of course, but that happened to every match on the card.

Oh I agree. I feel I have to give Sting's match the 'Match of the Night' mark in my own mind on a technicality cause of what it was, but if we're straight up talking 'what was the more impressive and entertaining match of the night?' then 100% Ospreay/Takeshita. Neither of these two men needed to give us an 8 star match when their 3's are better than most's 5's but I'm glad they did.
