We saved the screen mesh when we replaced the windows on the house a couple years ago. Now it prevents a marauding crow from pulling up our pepper plants.

We were having issues with an annoying crow who repeatedly yanked out my pepper seedlings to get at tasty worms/other bugs below. Thankfully this old window screen mesh proved to be enough of a deterrent.

That's brilliantly functional and simple to do. Good idea. I should have done something like that when I planted saplings in a low box on the balcony. My cats dug them out out of curiosity (thankfully they did not use the box as a litter box), thankfully I had more unplanted saplings that I was going to give away otherwise, and the cats were not allowed out on the balcony again until my tomatoes grew bushier and taller.

I love the crows and I love the peppers...but not in the same planter. Nice solution

That cat has seen things.
