I wonder how much one of these cost back then. They can't have been cheap.

EDIT: $70 and it is equivalent to $262 today. Also "It is HP's longest and best-selling product and is considered the de facto standard among financial professionals." (Wikipedia)

I bought this one for about 60 € a couple of years ago, the seller made me promise to take care of her well. I do it; I carry it all day in my bag and I use it from time to time

I got one of these for my engineering financials class because they're just so iconic, how could I not? Nothing feels quite as awesome as those HP calculator buttons, I tell ya. Buddy of mine in college got a 128S (when they were the new hotness). I was so envious. Still am actually lol.

That is a gorgeous calculator! I wish that they still made some of their old scientifics. The financial calculators are like an entirely different language to me.

I didn't even know financial calculators are a thing, let alone that there are calculators that offer dedicated computations on dates. Now I have to get one!

I used a lot of calculators in the past and always wish I could justify picking a daily driver out of my collection. Sadly, I seem to haven't been able to find a proper use case so far.
