it occurred to me the other day that despite the explicit mention of it in the lemmy docs, there aren't many communities (to my knowledge) operating as strange pseudo-blogs
this is such a splace for dabbling with that use-case, and learning some of the quirks of making a distinct feeling community
you may not post, but for this or that post you may comment...for a time.

icon scaling iterations 1 functioned poorly for scaled down and scaled up (when in-splace)
variant 2 better on scaled down but still some clipping on up, may continue adjustments
adjustments continued, display behavior remains odd, unsure how to address clipping outside of image modification itself vs simple scaling attempts
forgotten pseudo-solution recalled, addition of surrounding transparent/opaque buffer ensures full image content is shown in desired central position
banner exhibiting similar issue as check 2, may squish photons to achieve proper glow
banner 2 continues to insufficiently radiate, additional stretching will proceed
banner 4 appears to fit in-splace but in-passage appears rather small and unappealing, unfortunate tradeoff
additional squashing via removing of loose sprue seems to have slightly improved banner 5's appearance
roadies will know a fading echo of a splace lives within the spoiling fridge leftovers, would advise applying rewind for amusement at prior mishaps and better appreciation for the fast forwarded present playing at variable attentive speed
since 0.19 banner seems more picky about size? under 2mb seems to give fewest issues
sidebar concepts successful! guidance/theming via sidebar images presently viable web-side, may be useful for distinct atmospheres and viibess
