Not a youngster but I always dislike :-) for being weird. :) is quick, fun and simple. Why add -? It literally makes me uncomfortable. Ha. Ha.

It's hyperbole + I think it was implied that the emoji was being sent in a DM (since rizz is usually used in the context of being charismatic with women)

Multiple dashes, I'd understand being problematic. Ah, the joys of getting old; can't tell when the younger generations are making a joke vs When something has become a faux pas ./shrug

Thanks to this post I learned instead of telling Siri “smiley face” ( :-) ) I can say “smiley emoji”.

Unfortunately I get 😊 instead of 🙂.

The one you want is usually called something like "slight smile" or "simple smile"
