The Wages of Fear (1953)
In a decrepit South American village, four men are hired to transport an urgent nitroglycerine shipment without the equipment that would make it safe.
On reading about another film Sunshine (2007) I saw that Danny Boyle had used the film The Wages of Fear as inspiration for the type of suspense he wanted to create in Sunshine.
On a whim, I watched this movie with a friend and was blown away by how much media is influenced by this film! I am a pretty big fan of Death Stranding and There Will Be Blood and both of those works draw heavily upon this film.
An awesome suspense film that I have to recommend!

This looks like the original story for William Friedkin’s Sorcerer, a film I really enjoyed. Thanks for this one, I will check it out!
I saw that Sorcerer was based on the same premise as well. Looking forward to watching that with my friend!
