This is the Savyolovskaya station in Moscow. I should clarify that I did not take this picture - and I am not sure who has because reverse search just yields people re-posting it. It's been one of my fave liminal space pics for a while though.

US government: best i can do is remove benches, so homeless people can't sleep in it. take it or leave it 😉

Bro, I live in America okay? There's no federal law mandating benches be awful. These are all local laws or city ordinances voted for by citizens who are unsympathetic to the homeless.

yeah, i had no idea which part of the government decides it. just read about it about a month ago

Going the same way in the UK. London is the only city with a useful underground rail network and those stations are full of ads and are mostly badly designed
