Police seize record 50,000 Bitcoin from now-defunct piracy site
The police in Saxony, eastern Germany, have seized 50,000 Bitcoin from the former operator of the pirate site movie2k.to through a voluntary deposit to a state-controlled wallet.
This is a record figure for the country's law enforcement authorities, corresponding to over $2.1 billion at today's Bitcoin-USD exchange rate.

"we our very proud of our seizure of 40,000 Bitcoins!" Say the Chief of Police, who incidentally recently entered into unrelated windfalls.
" there seems to be some confusion! Only 30,000 bitcoins were recovered!" Said the mayor, pictured in front of his newly purchased mansion.
That's worth over 2 billion euros. What is then done with this? Will the government try to convert it to euros?
I'm guessing it reduced their sentence by quite a lot
