Why are posts translated with Google?

There is no tracking through this public API, unless you're already logged into Google but at the point you probably don't care about privacy
Is there really a privacy gain when you’re translating public posts?
Tracking what you translate is the same as tracking what you browse. They will know your interests and serve you targeted advertising.
The API doesn’t appear to store any data though.
To myself yes. Google doesn't need to know what I do.
